Free Friday Acoustic Series

Founders Hall is only minutes away from you all at Elizabeth Square, why not check out the Friday Acoustic series during your lunch break?

Starting tomorrow every Friday from noon to 2 p.m. until October 29th, you can enjoy tunes from the area’s finest jazz and acoustic artists. Performances are free and open to the public. Sounds like a great way to get out of the office for a bit, I mean it is Friday, we’re all excited for the weekend and it’s especially hard on Fridays to be in the office all day.

While your over there, check out the skywalks that just opened. The skywalks converge into a magnificent, six-story atrium called the Urban Garden, complete with granite floors, trees and high-end finishes.

Metro Dash Charlotte

Are you looking for a summer challenge? Are you ready for the race of your life?

Coming to Charlotte–August 28, 2010–is the famous (and exhausting) Metro Dash.

Unlike any other street race,  Metro Dash runners are challenged beyond bodily belief, not only with running the downtown streets of Charlotte but also with other physical challenges they’ll face along the way.

Workout stations and runner challenge points include:

• Tabata Challenge –A 4 minute training cycle of 20 seconds of maximum effort followed by 10 seconds of rest.
• Stair Climb – Run up and down what would be the equivalent of a 15-story office building, possibly carrying a 10lb weight with you.
• The Gauntlet -An urban obstacle course with tractor tires, a low crawl, and an 8 foot wall.

Metro Dash Registration is $60 for individuals and is open to anyone 18 and over. Metro Dash is limited to a field of 200 runners, so don’t wait too late to register if you think you have what it takes.
